RAVMAC announces its partnership in the DEBUT West Midlands project.

Following a successful bid for over 1.2m in funding from the Innovate UK Faraday Battery Challenge DEBUT-WM projects brings in a collaboration from universities, local government and industry to deliver an innovative battery training programme. University College Birmingham, RAVMAC, Cranfield University and WMG will jointly deliver the project with the support of project partners including Jaguar Land Rover which starts in October 2023 and will run over 18 months.

The programme will offer a blend of traditional physical training alongside advanced immersive digital technologies such as virtual and mixed reality. Learners will be taught skills used across battery manufacturing.

“This project builds on established leading regional technical expertise and capabilities, and the use of our digital learning environments will be core to the design of the training programme, enabling learners to navigate the whole battery manufacturing process in a safe and structured manner.” – Mark McNally Director RAVMAC

RAVMAC will take a direct role in the project. It will not only be the industrial technical lead but also be leading the digital development of the project. Utilising its vast experience in the automotive and battery sector to produce a state-of-the-art, industry led, training programme.

RAVMAC is excited to produce a training programme aimed directly at employers with a requirement of reskilling, upskill and hiring of around 270,000 employees to meet demand identified by the UK government.
